DeKarma is a mutual aid and community platform owned, operated, and registered under Family Shell LLP (LLPIN: ACT-9783) ("we", "us", or "our"), with its registered office at Plot No-34, Kh No- 22/13, Ground Floor, Krishan Vihar, Khampur, North West Delhi, Delhi - 110036, India. We are committed to protecting the privacy, security, and personal integrity of our community members ("Users", "you").

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, store, process, and protect your information when you access or use the DeKarma mobile application, websites, and associated backend microservices.

2. Core Privacy Principles

We believe in data minimization and complete user agency. In particular:

• No Location Leaks: We never broadcast your precise street address or real-time location to the open public feed.
• Gated Tracking: Live location streaming between users is only enabled when a helper explicitly taps "I'm on my way" and ceases immediately upon in-person OTP or QR task completion.
• No Commercial Data Selling: We do not sell, rent, or monetize your personal information to third-party ad networks or data brokers.

3. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide

• Account Data: Full name, verified mobile phone number, email address, and optional profile bio.
• Task Requests & Offers: Help category (Daily Help, Disability Support, Elder Care), structured timing slots, and task description.
• Trust & Verification Data: Government ID details (if submitted for advanced verified tier), verification selfies, and mutual feedback ratings.

B. Automatically Collected Information

• Coarse & Precise Location: Coarse city/neighborhood coordinates for calculating nearby tasks within your selected radius (1 km to 25 km). Precise GPS coordinates are collected strictly when actively executing an accepted en-route task.
• Device & Telemetry Data: IP address, device model, operating system version, push notification tokens (FCM/APNs), and security audit logs.

4. How We Use Your Information

• To discover and match mutual aid requests based on local proximity and helper availability.
• To authenticate sessions and manage non-monetary Karma credit balances.
• To secure in-person handoffs via dynamic QR code generation and 4-digit One-Time Password (OTP) verification.
• To prevent fraud, unauthorized location sharing, abuse, and enforce our Community Guidelines.

5. Data Retention & Security

We employ industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS 1.3/HTTPS) and at rest (AES-256). Live GPS coordinate streams are ephemeral and are purged from memory caches shortly after task completion. Audit logs and completed task records are retained in compliance with applicable laws in the National Capital Territory of Delhi, India.

6. Account & Data Deletion (Google Play Compliance)

You have the right to access, rectify, export, or permanently delete your account and associated personal data at any time.

• In-App Deletion: Go to Profile > Delete Account in the mobile app to permanently delete your account, wipe all personal profile details, and revoke active sessions immediately.
• Web / Email Deletion Request: If you have uninstalled the app or lost your device, you can submit a deletion request via our Account & Data Deletion Portal or email gaurav@familyshell.com.
• Granular Data Control: You can delete specific data (such as profile avatar, biography, skills, or location permissions) directly in the app without deleting your entire account.
